A frank look at Credits pricing

May 20261 min

How we set 1 USD = 200 Credits, what the margin really looks like, and why fixed exchange beats per-token guessing.

We chose Credits as the universal unit of value: 1 USD = 200 Credits, 1 CNY = 28 Credits, fixed forever. Here is why.

The pricing problem

Every provider denominates differently. OpenAI in USD per million tokens. Anthropic in USD per million tokens but with cache discounts. Midjourney per image. Suno per song. Veo per second. Mixing them in one bill is a mess — especially if you're billing your end users.

Why fixed exchange beats market rates

Some gateways let the USD↔CNY rate float with the market. That looks fair but it's terrible UX: your customer's monthly bill jitters with every macro headline. A fixed rate trades a sliver of margin for a clean predictable bill.

The margin, plainly

We mark up upstream cost by ~25% on average. That covers infrastructure, support, and the failover engineering that keeps you online when the provider isn't. No hidden quotas. No mark-up buried in token math.

The price you see is the price you pay — in plain Credits.
